This Privacy Policy explains what information the TTdictionary mobile application ("the App") handles, and how. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
In short: TTdictionary works offline. You do not need an account. Your searches, bookmarks, notes and history are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. The App is free and supported by advertising, and the advertising and analytics SDKs it includes do collect device-level data as described below.
1. Information stored on your device
The following data is created by you while using the App and is stored locally on your device only. We have no access to it and it is not uploaded to any server:
- Words you search for and your lookup history
- Bookmarks and favorites
- Personal notes attached to dictionary entries
- Flashcard and quiz progress and statistics
- App settings (selected dictionaries, font size, colors)
- The dictionary databases you download
This data may be included in your device backups (iCloud or local backup) if you have backups enabled. Deleting the App removes this data from your device.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require registration and do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or passwords.
- We do not collect your dictionary searches or the content of your notes.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.
3. Third-party services used by the App
The App includes software development kits (SDKs) from the providers below. These providers may collect certain information automatically, such as a device identifier, IP address, device model, operating-system version, language, coarse (country/region level) location derived from the IP address, and events about app usage or ad interactions. This processing is governed by each provider's own privacy policy.

4. Advertising and your choices
TTdictionary is free and is funded by advertising. On iOS, before any tracking takes place, the App asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- If you allow tracking, ad providers may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show and measure more relevant ads.
- If you do not allow tracking, the App continues to work exactly the same and you will see non-personalized ads instead.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the App also shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) where you can grant or refuse consent for personalized advertising and, where applicable, exercise your legitimate-interest objections. You can change your choice at any time in the App's settings, and you can change tracking permission in iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
5. Network requests made by the App
The App connects to the internet only to:
- download the catalog of available dictionaries and the dictionary databases you choose;
- fetch remote configuration values;
- request and display advertisements.
Once a dictionary is downloaded, searching and reading work entirely offline.
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
7. Data retention and security
Because your content stays on your device, retention is under your control: delete individual notes, bookmarks or history in the App, or delete the App to remove everything. Data handled by the third-party services listed above is retained according to those providers' policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data, and to withdraw consent. Since we do not hold personal data about you ourselves, most requests are best directed to the third-party providers listed in section 3. 9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
