Search and add from any app

Select text anywhere on your phone, choose “Search in <app>” or “Add to <app>” from the context menu, and the dictionary opens with the words ready.

You do not have to leave the article, chat or website you are reading. Select a word or a whole passage in any other app, and the Android text-selection menu offers two shortcuts named after your dictionary: Search in … and Add to ….

Search opens the dictionary with the selection. If you selected several words, a dialog lists them so you can pick the one to look up, or look them up one after another.

Add opens the add-word dialog with the selected text filled in. Selecting many words at once adds them in bulk: each word becomes its own entry, and the AI can write the definitions for you.

Text shared to the app from another app is treated as a search as well. Both shortcuts can be turned on or off in Settings (Quick Search Shortcut, Quick Add Shortcut).

In a browser, a messenger, an e-book — anywhere text can be selected.
2 · Pick the shortcut

3 · Finish in the app
A dialog opens with the words: look one up, or add them all at once.
